In our class each person chose our top three favorite books out of these five books, Shiloh, about a boy and his dog, Holes, about a dried up lake for digging holes, Loser, about a boy who every body thinks is a loser, Olives Ocean, about a girl who wants to find out the secrets of another girls life and On My Honer, about two boys one of them dies. I chose holes, I hope you like my video.
After a couple units of Social Studies, our teacher said " You each can pick an explorer and become an expert at this explorer." I chose Henry Hudson I had no idea who he was that was why I picked him. I learned a lot about him and made a video on him called a Narrable. We all had a fun time making them. We got to see every body's then we decide to show it to the world. I hope you like the video I made.
People wonder a lot of times why opinion writing maters at all, well people want to know about whether they should do this or this. People want to know more about this topic that you could be writing about. Other people might want to know your opinion. You can tell them in an opinion-writing piece. You can teach other people that don’t know that much about your topic. So people have many reasons for why opinion writing maters so now you know what some of those reasons are.
A Note From Me-The Author
My teacher Ms.Murray told us to revise a story we did in one of the first days of school. I found some errors but some of them were fine. The most I found were punctuation. But now that I revised it I found that I like it a lot better. At the beginning of the year I was not that good but now I have grown as a writer I am a lot better.
Marie Taglioni Riley 10/20/13
On April 23rd, 1804 a baby is born her name is Marie.
Trained in ballet strictly by her father named Filippo Taglioni. When she was 18 she did her first performance in Vienna.
Ten years later when she was 28 she was in one of Filippo’s dances called La Sylphide. At that dance she was the first woman to dance on Pointe shoes (Pointe shoes are a type of shoes were you can dance on your toes). Marie created a new style with beautiful floating leaps into the air. She also did some balanced poses arabesque (a pose where your balanced on one foot and the other foot is horizontally in the air). A very delicate use of points. The diaphanous (a light weight fabric) dress she wore at La Sylphide with its fitted bodice and its airy bell-like skirt it was the proto type of the tutu. The skirt at any length is still a dancer uniform.
She didn’t have only Paris at her feet she also had London, Milan, Vienna, Berlin, and St. Petersburg all hailing her as the greatest ballet dancer ever produced.
On April 24th, 1884 a baby dies her name is Marie.
